Mono Meals

We tend to overcomplicate tons of things in life, but food should not be complicated! I love eating vegan junk food and I am not ashamed of that. But I do love eating my delicious and healthy whole food plant based meals. One of the easiest way to get tons of nutrients in is to mono meal. 

Mono meals are meals where you typically only eat one type of fruit or vegetable in abundance.

Seems too simple to be true. It is fast, easy, and if you're eating your favorite food, delicious! That is my number 1 advice when it comes to trying out mono meals, eat fruit that you love! When you eat foods that aren't satisfying to you we eat less that what we should and you don't want that. If your favorite food is watermelon by all means eat it! 

Here are a couple of reason to get mono meals a try!

  • They are easier on your body- mono meals are easier to digest because of its simplicity.
  • Super convenient- you just grab fruit and go! Nothing easier than that. 
  • Nutrient dense- talk about getting your bang for your buck. Eating fruits in large amounts will pack you with tons of nutrients
A few of my favorite go to mono meals are

  • Mango nice cream ( just blended frozen mangos)
  • Banana smoothie 
  • Dates
  • Half a watermelon
  • Oranges or other citrus 

Remember to try to shop in season, not only will the fruit taste so much better but 9 times out of 10 you will mostly likely get a better deal. Don't be afraid to talk to your local market and speak to them about cutting you a lower price if you buy in bulk you will be surprised at how much they can do if you ask.
