Vegan Mama || Katrina Victoria

I am so thrilled to tell ya'll that I have interview Katrina from She is such an inspiration to me that I kinda fan girl-ed when I heard back from her. Haha. She has an awesome lifestyle blog where she speaks about all of my favorite topics: vegan food, health, eco friendly product features and cute baby pictures! What more could I want? Any who, I am so excited to share her interview with ya'll.

-Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Katrina and I am a wife and first time mom to a 6 month old baby boy. I'm passionate about family, the environment, fellow earthlings & uplifting others.
- What is your vegan story? Why and how you transitioned?
Like most vegans, I was not raised this way. I'm Filipino and meat is the main staple in our dishes. I never thought twice about what I ate and where it came from and how it got on my plate. Just a few short years ago, my husband and I actually owned a bakery specializing in custom cakes. One day, I was binge watching documentaries on Netflix. I believe it was Forks Over Knives that I first watched then Food Matters, Earthlings... Etc. All of a sudden, there was a shift in my consciousness and the next day, I went vegan cold turkey. It will be two years of being a vegan this coming July!
- Did you have any opposition when you told your family and friends that your child would be vegan?
Yes! My entire family was against it. It was so bad initially that I often ended up crying after family gatherings. It got even worse 6 months in when I announced I was pregnant. I was told I wouldn't be able to nourish my baby being vegan and that I could not thrive without meat. On top of that, I was also still working out. So I was dodging "you're going to lose your baby" comments from all angles.
-What is some advice that you can give to fellow vegan mamas?
Continue doing what you believe in. We are responsible for raising the future stewards of this planet. Let's make sure we're doing a good job.
